  • Do I need to have done Pilates before?
Absolutely not. Clients range from those who have never done any Pilates to individuals who have regularly attended classes for years. Our matwork classes are individually designed to your specific needs and aims, established after analysing the information gathered from your medical history and an initial assessment.
  • Who can benefit from Pilates?
Pilates can help people of all ages seeking to improve their physical and psychological wellbeing. Our classes enable you to experience a more rapid progression due to the individual focus and attention made to your own needs and goals.
  • I regularly take part in sport. Could Pilates help?
With professional athletes taking up Pilates exercises to optimise their performances, reduce injury occurence and help during rehab, it's fair to say the answer is yes! Whether you're a cyclist, runner, swimmer, tennis player, golfer, skier or enjoy team sports, Pilates will give you the ability to use your body in a more efficient and effective manner. Improving your alignment, flexibility and gaining a more balanced and stable muscular system, will help prolong the time you can keep participating and doing what you love.
  • Do you offer antenatal and postnatal classes?
Yes. After attending courses and gaining an additional qualification we are able to offer antenatal and postnatal classes. You will need to complete an additional form which asks a few more questions and will need to have gained medical clearance from your doctor or midwife. Physical activity during and after pregnancy has been shown to have many benefits for both mother and baby in the short and long term. Take a look at the Active Pregnancy Foundation website for more information.
  • Why do you focus on individual and small group sessions?
We take great pride in offering a service which delivers a personalised approach. We can create a plan led by your specific goals, medical history, sports and time schedule. It also enables us to progress at your own pace and adapt to your changing needs and circumstances as they arise. The individual focus, attention and expertise provided will aid a more rapid progression and therefore greater satisfaction. Precision of movement is the key to success and this requires the teacher to be able to observe and make the necessary adjustments.
  • What should I wear and what equipment do I need?
To enable posture and alignment to be seen and corrected, wearing more fitted activewear as opposed to baggy clothes would be most beneficial. However, it is important your clothing does not restrict you from being able to move. People tend to wear a comfortable top, leggings or long shorts and either have socks on or have bare feet. We also ask you to have your own mat, towel / head cushion, but this will be discussed before your first session.
  • Where do you offer classes and how much are they?
We are based in the Stamford, Lincolnshire area, but we do travel further afield so do ask. If you would like to do Pilates from the comfort of your own home, then we also offer classes via Zoom. Prices depend on the type of class you choose and its duration.
